Casa JG25 or Casablanda is a high-rise housing renovation project in Callosa de Segura, Alicante. A young couple acquires this apartment from the 90s, where the living area was divided in two separated areas. The living room was located in a privileged area with views while the kitchen was relegated to an interior area with little natural light, an old architectural strategy associated with the role of women relegated to the kitchen. The design inserts a fluid and soft space that connects all the spaces of the house, and proposes a unique day area in which the tasks of all the inhabitants are blended. The second design strategy is the deconstruction of the corridor concept through a sinuos geometry thats allows a multitude of uses; hall, children’s area, reading area, etc.
