AC08 House

House AC08 is a project inserted in a non-place, a context that has been erased in pursuit of standardized urbanism. As a wish from the clients, the request arose that the main material of the house be stone. Starting from the problem of extractivism and our effort to transform the way of doing architecture from criticism and thought, we decided to visit a cream ivory marble quarry, the largest open-air quarry in Europe, which is located 100 km from the home, to find a conscious way to introduce natural stone. There we learned that a percentage of the material is thrown away and not reused. The project aims to reuse stone waste from the quarry in different formats and textures. ESPECIE is about transforming elements that are considered waste into objects of desire.
